DESCRIPTION:
The Ford GT40 was conceived to challenge Ferrari's dominance in long distance racing, particularly the Le Mans 24 hour race which Ferrari had won continually from 1960 to 1965. In 1966 with the MkII model Ford succeeded in winning the Le Mans and followed up their success in 1967, 1968 and 1969.

Made in China for Scalextric the model is ex shop-stock and may or may not have had some minimal use as a demonstation vehicle. This model is one of a limited edition being number 7492 of only 8000 made.
